For those that have watched him in the past year or even faced him, he is not overpowering (he struckout only 40 batters in 65 innings, a little more than a strikeout every other inning), every single coach for Oxford and their opponents know that. Yet managed to get through game after game allowing minimal damage, giving his team every chance to win every game he has pitched in.
Come out and watch next year, you'll see a competitor that will keep his team in games. Who knows, he may end the game chasing (and in last year's case, pushing) a runner down between 2nd and 3rd base after fooling another Saltillo runner into a fake overthrow to Center Field.
Just know when #14 is on the mound, expect the game to be good and you can feel good about Oxford's chances of winning the game.
