CBS will have Double-headers on the weekends of October 11th and November 8th. November 8th was picked likely because that is the weekend of the Alabama/LSU game. We know of three games that will be on CBS:
September 13th (first weekend): Georgia @ South Carolina
November 1st: Florida vs. Georgia (annual tradition)
November 28th (a Friday): Arkansas @ Missouri
In addition, CBS will have a game on the 29th of November as well.
So because I have a lot of free time, here are my predictions as to what game will be featured for each week:
September 13th - Georgia @ South Carolina, already announced as CBS's first game this has a good chance to have a great opening game.
September 20th - Florida @ Alabama, you already know CBS will want to get Alabama on early. Florida although was awful last year will still draw a big TV crowd. The other 2 matchups aren't that sexy and won't get near the draw. Other choices: South Carolina @ Vanderbilt, Mississippi State @ LSU
September 27th - Tennessee @ Georgia, this week didn't have many good choices and this always is a decent game anyways. This game went down to the wire last year. Second Opinion: Missouri @ South Carolina - This would be the first chance to get Missouri on the air as the defending SEC East Champion and would be a halfway decent game as well. Other choices: Arkansas vs. Texas A&M (in Arlington, TX), Vanderbilt @ Kentucky
October 4th - LSU @ Auburn, simply because this is Auburn's first chance with CBS since becoming SEC Champions last year, and of course LSU's first sexy matchup of the season CBS can't pass this up. Second Opinion - Alabama @ Ole Miss, There is a real shot both come in undefeated and College GameDay could make its way there if that were to happen. CBS does have plenty to choose from, but can't pass up the first option. Other choices: Florida @ Tennessee, Texas A&M @ Mississippi State, South Carolina @ Kentucky, Vanderbilt @ Georgia
October 11th - 1st Game: Ole Miss @ Texas A&M, CBS should know the last two games both came down to the wire. It will be a competitive game. If Ole Miss pulls the unthinkable against Alabama the week before, this is almost a gimme - Ole Miss would easily be in the Top 10 with an unbeaten record. 2nd Game: LSU @ Florida - Ratings, Ratings, Ratings is what this game is, no other game left can match it. Second Opinion - Georgia @ Missouri, this would go to the first slot if chosen. If they didn't pick Missouri two weeks ago, they will likely want to get them here being the defending SEC East Champs with Georgia normally a big viewing crowd. Other choices: Auburn @ Mississippi State, Alabama @ Arkansas
October 18th - Missouri @ Florida, I feel like I will wiff at this one, but at some point Missouri has to get on and they could easily get on the other two times I've mentioned. Florida a big rating puller and their schedule is usually front-loaded as they play Florida State at the end of the season. Second Opinion - Texas A&M @ Alabama, if Missouri isn't on before this week, I feel this will get picked instead because thanks to Johnny Manziel for two years it has become a big ticket game. Other choices: Georgia @ Arkansas, Tennessee @ Ole Miss, Kentucky @ LSU
October 25th - Alabama @ Tennessee, big time rivals, and both fan bases will draw big time ratings especially if Tennessee turns the corner to start the year. Second Opinion - South Carolina @ Auburn, two teams who will both have a good shot at getting to Atlanta and maybe even a preview if Auburn does it again. Ole Miss @ LSU is also this weekend but they will be left in the dust in CBS's option pool. Other choices: Ole Miss @ LSU, Mississippi State @ Kentucky, Vanderbilt @ Missouri
November 1st - Florida vs. Georgia (in Jacksonville, FL) - as noted already, CBS does this game traditionally and has announced it as so.
November 8th - 1st Game: Florida @ Vanderbilt, Vandy is a team that is no longer your SEC weakling and that will continue to be the case. Florida coming in and being on the road will be a TV Rating pull, they will get the rare CBS showing in their house. 2nd Game: Alabama @ LSU - you knew that is why they wanted this date to be a Doubleheader. Ratings galore. Second Opinion - Texas A&M @ Auburn, I could see this with Auburn having not being on much prior to this week and this would be a good SEC matchup in the first slot. Other choice: Georgia @ Kentucky
November 15th - Auburn @ Georgia, this is why I picked the one I picked the week before because of this game. I'm not the biggest fan of doing one team back-to-back and it would be three straight weeks if Georgia was picked last week. This game last year had that infamous tip-drill pass completion that kept Auburn's Championship hopes alive. Second Opinion - South Carolina @ Florida, if Georgia does get picked, expect this one instead. Especially since there is a good chance the SEC East Title would be on the line for one or both of them (neither team has an SEC game left after this matchup). Other choices: Missouri @ Texas A&M, Mississippi State @ Alabama, LSU @ Arkansas, Kentucky @ Tennessee
November 22nd - Missouri @ Tennessee, not many good choices really for this week. This would be the best one for now given that Missouri is the defending SEC East Champs and Tennessee is a rating puller. Second Opinion - Ole Miss @ Arkansas, this really depends on where these four seasons are at this point. If Missouri or Tennessee is the hotter team, they will get picked. This is really the only chance Arkansas has a getting a CBS game this year given their turmoil last year. Other choice: Vanderbilt @ Mississippi State
November 28th - Arkansas @ Missouri, CBS does a Friday-after-Thanksgiving game every year and this game was picked for it this year.
November 29th - Auburn @ Alabama, DUH! Surely no one forgot for a second what happened last year, right? Other Choices: Mississippi State @ Ole Miss, Tennessee @ Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech @ Georgia (Note: LSU @ Texas A&M is on a Thursday + Florida @ Florida State and South Carolina @ Clemson are road games for SEC Teams, thus CBS cannot pick them)
December 6th - SEC Champioinship Game.
