If you have ever been to FNC Park or to the Ole Miss Golf Course, you have very likely passed by this restaurant. I did, twice before actually finding it. I have routinely passed by this place without ever knowing this place existed. This place is located at the 3-way stop at the intersection of College Hill Rd. and McElroy Dr. where the BP station there is located. Look across the street from BP and look to the far right building, there is where Minks on the Park is.
As for what is Minks on the Park, it is a sandwich shop for the most part and sells deli meats. There is a total of 21 Sandwiches on the Menu and 2 Hot Dog options. You can also "Roll your own Sandwich" or Salad as well. You can eat these sandwiches on a hoagie, a bagel or a wrap. Your side options are between chips, Pasta Salad, or Pimento or Bean Salad.
The kids menu includes a "Banana Dog" (Penaut Butter and Banana on a Hot Dog bun), The "JoBaby" (your basic PBJ Sandwich), "The Curt" (The baisc Ham or Turkey Sandwich w/ Cheese), and a Hot Dog.
Drinks, besides the basic Coke Products (which comes in a can) and Water includes several smoothie options with flavors that include Pineapple, Apple, Strawberry, Mango, Banana, Wild Cherry, Orange and many others. They also serve Frappes from Chai, Latte, Mocha, Vanilla Bean and such. Wheat Grass shots are also available.
I took the "The Double Cross" Sandwich option on the Sandwich Menu. The Double Cross includes Cajun Turkey, Vermont Cheddar Cheese, Salami, Bacon, Red Onion (which I left out), Mink's BBQ Sauce, Lettuce & Tomato (left out) on a Wheat Bagel (which I made into a Wrap instead. It comes with a side of pretzels and a pickle. (The picture of what I got is above) The Double Cross double crossed my breath for a long time after eating it. I was still smelling it by nearly kickoff that night. One of the best sandwiches I have eaten in a while. Highly recommend this place - if you can find it of course ;).
Most sandwiches are priced between $7-9 and you can expect to pay about $10 per person for a complete meal. This place is definitely one of the best kept secrets in Oxford. If you don't have time to sit down and eat, never fear - a drive-thru is available. Once you find this place, you will never forget it, I sure won't.
