1. Mike McGhee - Aided Oxford Boys Track to a second consecutive title. Won State Title in the Shot Put for the third year in a row. Advanced Oxford Football to 2nd straight title game. Will go to North Alabama for Football.
2. KT McCollin - Set School Record for Interceptions in a single season. Helped Football reach its second straight title game. Will go to Northwest MS CC for Football.
3. Ally Collier - Aided the Girls Soccer team to a playoff berth this season and helped the Volleyball team achieve a winning record.
4. Tristan Orman - Helped win the Boys Cross Country and Boys Track Titles this season. Also won the 3200m Title at the State Track Meet in Pearl. Will go to Mississippi State for Cross Country and Track.
5. Shelby McEwen - Helped the Boys Track team win the State Title. Won the High Jump title at the State Track Meet. Also aided the Boys Basketball team to a 5A Quarterfinal appearance and won the 2-5A Title in Basketball. Will head to Ole Miss for Track and will walk-on to the Ole Miss Basketball team.
6. Jack McClure - Delivered time after time again en route to Oxford's 2nd State Title in Baseball. Will go to Northwest MS CC for Baseball.
7. Gabrielle Joyce - Helped the Girls Soccer team reach the playoffs. Will go to Jones County JC for Soccer.
8. David Dennis - Aided Boys Track and Boys Cross Country in their State Title run. Also got Boys Basketball to a 5A Quarterfinals appearance.
9. Janesha Johnson - Led the Girls Basketball team to a playoff berth and a 2-5A Tournament Title and aided the Girls Track team to a 2nd place finish. Will go to Northwest MS CC for Basketball.
10. Cortez Jones - Led the Boys Basketball team to the 5A Quarterfinals.
11. Kate Anderson - Led Girls Cross Country to a 2nd place finish and Girls Soccer to a playoff berth.
12. Thomas Murphy - Led Boys Swimming to another good season and Boys Soccer to the playoffs.
During the Senior's 4-year stretch, they saw, helped earned, or directly contributed to 18 State Titles during their time at Oxford High School. It is the most amount of titles during any 4-year stretch in school history. The five state titles this year ties the 2011-12 athletic year for the most in a single year in school history.
Next Friday, I will once again begin the Oxford Dandy Dozen countdown for the Class of 2016 Seniors. They will be released every Friday until the Friday of the week of the Jamboree for Oxford Football. This first one which starts at No. 9 is next week. Time to kill off every Friday of the summer until the next school year.
