#9 - Neil Chandler
Neil Chandler always had a special soccer talent. That was proven during a tryout for the Tupelo Futbol Club a few years ago.
In his age group, there was just one spot open on their roster for their travel club and a serious number of players upwards of 50 tried to get to that one spot. Chandler ended up grabbing it.
Turning to his senior year, he returns having led the team in goals the previous year according to Maxpreps. He also will have the task of leading a rather young team filled with juniors and sophomores into building the momentum they've built over last year in reaching the second round but falling short a second straight time to Germantown.
Chandler will also have to learn a new style of play with a new head coach coming into the system and luckily unlike the situation three years ago, they will have the summer to start learning the system instead of trying to learn it on the fly during the season.
The group of sophomores and juniors and the few remaining seniors that are on the team are the first group to come through the system that saw the rise and expansion of the travel teams in Oxford, so these group of athletes look to threaten taking Germantown off the 5A North Half Champion seat they've held for two straight years and try to return to the title game held in Madison.
The time to learn is over, it's now time for him to lead this soccer team this year.
